Whoever invented this needs to get an award. What a fun concept. You stick this thing on your head and the kids go crazy. Will they get wet? Who knows? They squeal. They freak out. They try to outrun the gushing water, which of course they can’t. All I know is they had a blast and it was easy to figure out and implement. No complicated rules. Just fun.

The get-up is a lot though, and the chin-strap makes for it a bit hard to transport from one head to the other. Just be patient.

Great fun, but I actually think it’s best for older ages, July 7, 2015

I read some of the reviews saying kids got bored and/or it was hard to keep the spokes in, and I think maybe the key to this game is to not play it with kids who are too young. I realize just looking at the thing you’d think it was made for very small children, but the truth is at the Fourth of July gathering I tried it out at the teenagers and adults had as much fun with it as the kids. The youngest child who played was 9, then there were teens all the way up through adults, and we had a blast going around in the circle, pulling the peg, and seeing if you were the one to get soaked. The fun lies in both hoping it’s not going to happen to you and in watching it happen to your friends/family, and I think perhaps the older you are the more that suspense grows because usually very young children don’t care about getting all wet and looking silly. It’s the older ones that find that such an outrageous threat, and that’s the fun this game provides. Also, with an older age group we had no trouble keeping the pegs in at all, probably because no one was wiggling around or trying to pull them prematurely. This was such a hit that we’re actually bringing it to our preteen/teen youth camp next month.

Some water toys can keep a group of children entertained for hours on a summer day…but this is not one of them. It’s a cute gimmick, but not much more. I had a group of three children testing it out, and it took too long to set up for the entertainment value provided. They were entertained for about 5-10 minutes, and it took maybe 5 minutes to get it all set up. The chin strap is a pain to adjust each time, and it is overkill, I think. It is original, I’ll give it that, but sometimes it’s the oldies-but-goodies that are the real summertime winners. Slip-n-slide, water guns, water tables, sprinkler attachments; these are all superior choices for water play.
