German Bundesliga; Hoffeinhem Vs Mainz

In the German Bundesliga, Hoffeinheim will welcome Mainz this Saturday.

Hoffenheim was defeated for the first time this season last weekend when the team visited RB Leipzig and stood defeated with a 2:1 result. However, it needs to be said that the team played with a man less last thirty minutes and didn’t look that bad, actually probably earning a point in case they stood playing with all eleven players.

They were even the first one to take the lead, in 18th minute via Amiri, while the hosts leveled up the result in 38th minute via Werner, while as said, guests stood playing with a man less in 60th minute when Wagner had to leave the field due a red card given. Hosts increased the tempo and earned the second goal in 77th minute via Sabitzer. Hoffenheim is now at fifth position having same number of points as Dortmund and remain in must win situation in order to chase the Champions League position.

Mainz, on the other side, comes from second consecutive draw, as the team managed to take a point in a home match against Dortmund holding the opponent to a 1:1 draw last weekend. Their visitors were actually better and more dominant, as the guests even took the lead in third minute with a goal from Reus and looked slightly better for the most of the game.

However, hosts surprised them towards the end of the game with a goal in 83rd minute scored by Latza, while the guests had no further time to respond later on. Mainz now remained in the middle of the table, at tenth position to be precise, as the team has now eight points less than Europa League placed Hertha and seven more than play-out placed Ingolstadt.

Hoffenheim have scored at least 2 goals in their last 3 home matches against Mainz in all competitions. They lost for the first time this season in their last game, so I think they’ll be in against Mainz with every attack force available.

German Bundesliga; Werder Bremen Vs Bayern Munich Preview And Prediction

In this Bundesliga fixture Werder Bremen will host Bayern Munich, in what will be their 18th league match of the season.

Werder are 15th with 16 points, 3 above the relegation zone.

They have found the net in all of their home games this season, and also in all but one overall – against Bayern in Week 1. Also, they kept only one clean sheet this season, which means that all but two of their games this season finished with goals from both sides. On Saturday they lost 2:1 to Dortmund at home. In addition to being 1:0 down since 5th minute, their goalkeeper Drobny picked up a red card for a bad foul on Arsenal target Marco Reus in the 39th minute. But it didn`t stop Werder from playing their attacking-minded game. It paid off for them when Bertels levelled in the 59th minute, but Dortmund with a man more were too strong and took all three points with Piszczek`s goal in 71st minute.

The home side will miss suspended Drobny, injured Bargfrede, Grillitsch, Hajrovic and Johannsson, while their best player Gnabry is doubtful due to illness.

Bayern are leading the Bundesliga table with 42 points. They have been in great form lately, recording seven wins in a row across all competitions.

In the last league fixture they faced Freiburg, beating them 2:1 in a close game. Freiburg took an early lead, with Haberer calmly finishing one-on-one situation. Since that goal, Bayern were in control, capitalizing on their pressure with a goal from Lewandowski in 35th minute. In the second half, we were looking equal game, with Freiburg having maybe even better chances. However, Lewandowski showed his class, and brought all three points to his team with a great finish in stoppage time.

The away team will be without Boateng, while Alcantara and Vidal remain doubtful.

Bayern are clear favourites, but the  game against Freiburg showed that it`s not all that simple for them. However, they are facing the worst defense in the league here, which is conceding more than 2 goals per game. On the other side of the pitch, Werder are scoring 1.24 goals per game, and as I said, scored in every game but against Bayern in Week 1. Werder are missing their best player, but I still they can find a net here. Bayern are missing Boateng, and the game against Freiburg showed us their defense can be broken.

For this event, I think Both teams will score. Odd 1.90

SHOCKING: Real Madrid Target Wanted By Barcelona

Barcelona are reportedly ready to rival Real Madrid for Borussia Dortmund and Gabon star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Spanish outlet Don Balon claim Aubameyang could be off to Barcelona instead of Madrid.

It is said Borussia Dortmund are ready to offer the striker to the Catalan giants in order to ensure they receive the highest transfer fee possible.

Though they are determined to keep their star asset, they recognise he could leave be off at the end of the season.

Barcelona could move for the Dortmund striker with Luis Suarez turning 30 on Tuesday.

Aubameyang who is also wanted by Arsenal and Manchester City has previously admitted his dream is to play for Madrid.

But, should Barcelona meet their £70m evaluation of the player, he could end up at the Nou Camp instead.

Bundesliga; Werder Bremen Vs Dortmund Preview And Analysis

Werder Bremen will receive Dortmund at the Weser Stadion, in the 17th round of the German Bundesliga.

Bremen finished the previous year actually in style, as the team didn’t suffer defeat in previous five matches in Bundesliga, managing to exit the relegation zone as they now stand at fifteenth position, with three points more than play-out placed Hamburger SV.

However, they are far away from a safe side as the team need to continue performing well in order to remove the doubts about their salvation completely. They’ve taken ten out of sixteen points in front of own fans and know that they need to perform as good as possible in home matches. During the break, Werder Bremen played three matches not impressive a lot overall, as the team had 1:1 draws against Club Brugge and Karsruher, but lost in the most recent friendly match against Braunschweig 1:2.

Werder should be playing in 4-4-1-1 formation with Pizarro as number nine, while Kruse should be offensive midfielder just behind his back. Winter signing Thomas Delaney could make his Bundesliga debut in the midfield.

Dortmund, on the other side, could have ended the previous year in a bit better style, as the team ended their campaign with three draws in a row, staying to a point taken on the road against Koln and Hoffenheim, but also making a setback in their home game against Augsburg in a 1:1 draw in the most recent Bundesliga game.

After three draws in a row, Dortmund stands at sixth position only, which is three points below the third placed Hertha, but already twelve points behind first placed Bayern. On the other side, they are just two points above out of European places Augsburg and need to get back on the winning ways as soon as possible. Dortmund had three matches during the holiday break, showing some really good offensive performances as the team won over PSV 4:1, Standard Liege 3:0 and in the most recent one, winning over Paderborn 6:1.

Dortmund is set to play in 4-1-4-1 formation with Schurrle most likely as central striker, but also with massive help from Gotze, Castro, Kagawa and Reus as offensive midfielders. Central defender Neven Subotic remains long term absentee without performing so far now being unfit.

Werder is currently just three points above the relegation zone and need to continue their strong form as they can’t count much on points on the road. Therefore, I expect the home team to be pretty attacking, while Dortmund anyway remains a favorite here even though they are missing their star striker.

Both Teams To Score is the option for this game. Odd 1.60

Robben Extends His Contract With Bayern Munich

Former Chelsea winger Arjen Robben has extended his contract with Bayern Munich.

Robben, 32, arrived at the Allianz Arena in 2009 and has won five Bundesliga titles, four DFB-Pokals and the Champions League.

“I am happy that I will be playing another year at FC Bayern,” the Holland international told the club’s website.

“The club is one of the best in the world and Munich has become a second home for me and my family. I want to continue to play at the top level and win as many titles as possible. ”

Robben has scored six goals in 14 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti’s side this season as Bayern chase a fifth successive league title.
