The Brazilian made an immediate impression as he came on as a sub in a friendly, first scoring the opening goal and then having a hand in the second.
The 25-year-old switched to the Chinese Super League earlier in the month, when he was captured for £60 million from Chelsea, but the Brazilian attacker has hinted he will justify his £20m-per-year wages by netting on his first appearance for the club.
“I only trained for two days and this is my first game. This is the start of a new season and we had only one goal, which was to win the game,” he told the media.
“My team-mates played very well today. The Chinese guys tried to help us integrate. It’s difficult to have a good game in such a short time but they made it happen.”
Oscar is one of a number of high-profile acquisitions this January for CSL clubs. Belgium international midfielder Axel Witsel has also moved to the league, joining Tianjin Quanjian, while Carlos Tevez’s move to Shanghai Shenhua has reportedly made him the best paid footballer ever.
