Manchester United Comeback To Defeat Middlesbrough
Category : News
MANCHESTER UNITED continuted their charge towards the top four in the Premier League as they came from behind to beat Middlesbrough.
Grant Leadbitter had given Boro a shock lead, drilling home a low finish from Alvaro Negredo’s knock down.
Up until then, United had dominated a match in which Pogba struck the post with an overhead kick and Martial hit the same upright with a long-range strike.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic also had a goal harshly ruled out for a high boot on ex-United goalkeeper Victor Valdes, while the Spaniard twice blocked the United striker’s shots from close range in the second half.
United equalized in the 85th through Anthony Martial, and Paul Pogba handed the Red Devils the Lead and eventually the victory in the 86th minute.
It was a stunning finale, not just because of the timing of the goals, but because United had spent the previous 85 minutes wasting even better opportunities than the ones they converted.
With this victory United are 6th place and level on points with Tottenham who are yet to play their 19th game of the season.
