EPL; Manchester City Vs Arsenal Preview And Analysis.
Category : News
After a run of negative results, two defeats in Premier League and a draw in Champions League, Manchester City managed to bounce back to winning ways with a 2:0 home victory over Watford last Wednesday evening.
The Citizens totally deserved the victory dominating from the first minute and having much more of the ball possession, as they scored a goal in each halftime.
Zabaleta opened up the visiting team with a goal in 33rd minute, while Silva sealed the victory in 86th minute. City is now at fourth position, being seven points below leaders from Chelsea, but now only having a point less than second and third placed Liverpool and Arsenal.
The home side should be playing in 4-2-3-1 formation with Iheanacho as central striker, plus offensive midfielders Silva, Bruyne and Sterling behind him. Central midfielder Ilkay Gundogan suffered an injury during the midweek and won’t be playing here, as well as Vincent Kompany.
Key man Sergio Aguero is suspended for this one, as well as Fernandinho. Fabian Delph is also out due lack of fitness.
Arsenal the visiting team, on the other hand, comes from a 2:1 defeat away to Everton on Tuesday evening, even though the Gunners were the first one to take the lead, it was in 20th minute with a goal from Sanchez. They continued being a team with more ball possession, however the home team looked very efficient in attack.
Coleman leveled up the result in 44th minute and even though the visitors were dangerous in the repetition and were searching for the second goal, home team managed with kick and rush football to get the winning goal via Williams in 86th minute. This defeat broke a streak of three victories and Arsenal is now six points below first placed Chelsea and needs a victory here actually in order to stay anywhere close to the title race.
Visitors from London are set to play in 4-2-3-1 formation as well, with Sanchez as their main striker, plus offensive midfielders Walcott, Ozil and Iwobi. Aaron Ramsey remains doubtful, while Santi Cazorla, Mathieu Debuchy and Shkodran Mustafi remain injured. Yaya Sanogo, Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck remain injured from the start of the season.
I feel that neither of these two teams would be able to defend here, as they’re both eager to get all the necessary points in order to keep up with the table toppers Chelsea.
City should only be more and more improving, while Arsenal remains great on counters when needed, but not with that reliable defense.
Over 3 goals seems so likely to me, with the referee giving out a lot of cards today.
